Thank you for all applications to Story Fellowship 2024
After receiving 49 submissions responding to the open call for applications for Story Fellowship 2024, jointly launched by BEBESEA and New Naratif in June 2024, we spent about a month reviewing the applications received and meeting with shortlisted applicants. After very careful consideration, we have selected five fellows to take part in the Story Fellowship 2024/25 program and receive training, one-to-one mentoring, and a US$1,000 grant to enable their story productions.
The selection process was very challenging with so many unique and creative ideas to tell stories on diverse and important issues. The final selection was made to ensure diversity of geographical locations and issues are covered and represented in this fellowship program while assessing the uniqueness and feasibility of proposed plans. In addition, it was vital for the selection panel to ensure that this program would also be available for those who had few opportunities in the past to develop storytelling skills and/or to access platforms where their stories can be told to a large audience while having very important stories to tell.
We, BEBESEA and New Naratif, would like to thank all of the applicants for their time and efforts in submitting the applications.
The selected fellows will receive a training workshop by BEBESEA and New Naratif in August to kick off the program and then start working with their mentors to develop their stories.
